Launching CPD accredited GDPR training for accounting professionals
We are very pleased to launch data protection and GDPR training for accounting professionals accredited for CPD by our partner, the International Association of Accounting professionals.
The online training course ‘data protection & GDPR for accounting professionals’ is offered on Astrid’s learning platform. Available to any accounting professional, the course has been developed in collaboration with the International Association for Accounting Professionals (IAAP) and counts for one hour of CPD for members.

Accounting professionals’ GDPR training content
The course is comprised of bite-sized videos, templates and tests covering data protection specifically for small businesses including:- An introduction to GDPR
- Your responsibilities when handling personal information
- The lifecycle of personal information
- Breaches of personal data
- Good practice when handling personal information
- Threats to security: hackers and phishing attacks
- Sharing personal information with others
- Subject information requests
- Data protection issues for accounting professionals
- Everything you need to have set up to comply with GDPR
Those that work through all the elements and complete the course are issued with a certificate which provides the evidence International Association of Accounting Professionals needs to validate the CPD. IAAP Members can access the course for the members’ price of £24.99 but with a standard price of only £39.99, the course is affordable for all accounting professionals. IAAP members should visit the IAAP website to obtain their discount code.
The majority of data problems arise from human error. In 2019, eight out of every ten data incidents reported to the ICO were caused by simple human error (rather than a computer hacker attack). The regulator dislikes problems that happen but could have been prevented with basic knowledge and simple training!
